West Virginia will trend blue over the next four years based on the growth that I’m seeing in the Eastern Panhandle. Folks in MD, DC and Virginia are fed up with the high costs of housing which are almost double the costs here. The same thing happened in Virginia. Almost 20 years back I would tell folks Virginia was trending blue based on what I saw on the ground while working in Northern Virginia. Folks said it would never happen due to southern Virginia. Now Virginia is solid blue. There currently are a little over a million who live in West Virginia yet folks are moving to the area in mass while commuting to work in DV, MD and Virginia by the MARC train. Hold tight. The scales are bound to tip.
